Staff and board members of the School have participated in some of the most historic and precedent-setting civil disobedience actions in North Texas history, including the “occupations” of nuclear power plants and nuclear weapons sites in the 1970’s and 80’s, as well as protests in this century that established free speech rights in Dallas-Fort Worth, and the first arrests over environmental justice issues.
We offer a tradition in training for non-violence that’s been passed down by decades of use by every liberation and social justice movement in US history. We also offer “training for trainers” so that new groups have their own capacity to share these tactics with members and supporters.
